Project Description

The objective of the project is for Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to supply an additional 270 MLD of treated water to the City of Bangalore and expand of the sewerage services through the construction of sewage treatment facilities and trunk sewer systems. Additional water supplies and sewerage services are essential to help sustain the city’s rapid commercial and industrial growth and improve the quality of life in poorer areas through subsidized water provision and better sanitation.

Project Description

Port Moresby International Airport is located in Port Moresby, the capital city of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. With the increase in air traffic demand, DCA commissioned a British consultant in 1985 to formulate a long term airport master plan, the Port Moresby Airport Master Plan Study (hereinafter referred to as the Previous Master Plan Study). The Government recognised the necessity for the urgent development of the terminal facilities and air navigation systems. The airport is the main gateway to the country, and acts as a hub for domestic flights.

Project Description

The section of National Highway No. 5 (NH-5) between Chilakaluripet (km 355) and Viyayawada (km 434) in Andhra Pradesh only had a two-lane (7.0 m) pavement and the traffic on this section had increased considerably, and was beyond the capacity of the two-lane road. The proposal was to increase the capacity, provide better riding quality, and reduce the travel time and to widen the section of NH-5 to four-lanes with dual carriageway.

Project Description

The aim of the TA is to assist the National Tourism Organizations of the Greater Mekong Subregion countries in comprehensively evaluating the feasibility of developing the tourism potential of the Mekong River in a way that:a. promotes cooperation between the subregional countries, and b. protects the physical and cultural environment. A secondary objective is to facilitate cooperative management of the River's tourism resources to support the anticipated investments in tourism infrastructure and facilities, including village-based tourism.

Project Description

The project aims to:
a) develop a plan for freight transport in Surabaya that integrates all modes into the existing and future infrastructure of the city, and takes account of any social and environmental impacts it causes
b) develop proposals to assist and strengthen Dinas Lalu Linats dan Angkutan Jalan Daerah Sirabaya (DLLAJD) in its management of freight transport
c) Analyse the current function of Sidotopo Terminal and advise how these functions could be provided in the future
d) Investigate the efficiency of current vehicle operations and freight handling methods, and propose relevant changes.

Project Description

The Government of Indonesia carried out the development of urban infrastructure for forty-one (41) selected urban communities in four (4) provinces of Sulawesi under the World Bank loan agreement of Sulawesi II-UDP (Urban Development Projects). The main objective of the consultancy services was to improve the overall management of urban infrastructure development and the delivery of the services by local governments on a sustainable basis.
